Pastor Transition Process

We are excited to share that Desert Church has a new Lead Pastor!

After months of prayer, discernment, and collaboration between Desert Church leadership and the Northwest District of Foursquare, we are pleased to announce that Pastor Mitchell Kirsch has been appointed as the next Lead Pastor of Desert Church.

Mitchell, his wife Mallorie, and their six children—Silas (17), Shepherd (16), Solveig (13), Shilo (10), Saige (5), and Solomon (1½)—will be joining our Desert Church family later this year.

Pastor Mitchell currently serves as Family Pastor at Kingsway Foursquare Church in Sequim, Washington. Mitchell and Mallorie have dedicated much of their ministry to investing in children, students, families, and healthy marriages. As they describe it, they have "a huge heart for children, young people, and solid marriages."

Throughout this pastoral transition process, we have witnessed God's faithfulness and guidance. We are grateful for the leadership of the Northwest District of Foursquare, our Church Council, staff, and congregation as we have sought the Lord together for the future of Desert Church.

What's Next?

The Kirsch family has a busy summer ahead as Mitchell completes his current ministry commitments, including directing and leading summer camps—a ministry he has faithfully served in for the past 11 years.

Pastor Mitchell will officially begin his pastoral duties at Desert Church in September 2026.

Until then, Pastor Sal DiMare will continue serving as Interim Pastor, providing leadership, pastoral support, and consistency for our church family during this transition season.

Looking Ahead

We are incredibly thankful for the way God has orchestrated this journey, and we look forward to introducing Pastor Mitchell and his family to the church in the months ahead.

We can't wait to share more of the story of how God moved throughout this process and what lies ahead for Desert Church.
